The Wireless Wind-Light Sensor is an automatic control device designed specifically for Etna (half-cassette) and Rainier (full-cassette) motorised awnings. It is a fully wireless, solar-powered sensor that detects both wind speed and sunlight levels to control your awning automatically.
The unit is built for outdoor use, featuring IP44 weather protection, a solar panel with rechargeable lithium battery, and secure 433.92 MHz radio-frequency communication. It comes with a 3-year product warranty.

How It Works
1. Detects Wind
The sensor continually measures wind intensity.
If wind speed exceeds its safety threshold, it sends a radio signal to the awning motor to retract immediately.
This helps protect the awning from bending or being torn by sudden gusts.
2. Detects Sunlight
The built-in light sensor reads ambient sunlight levels.
When brightness reaches the preset level, it triggers the awning to extend and provide shade.
3. Wireless Communication
The sensor communicates with the awning motor using a secure 433.92 MHz frequency with rolling-code security.
The signal works up to around 50 metres in open space, though obstacles like walls can reduce this distance.
4. Solar-Powered Operation
A compact solar panel charges the internal 3.7V lithium battery, allowing the sensor to run continuously without cables or manual charging.
5. Easy Installation
The sensor mounts near the awning using the included bracket and screws.
Once paired with the motor, it automatically manages shade and safety with no further input required.
